Nisolone Tablet 5mg contains Prednisolone 5mg, which is a synthetic corticosteroid with glucocorticoid and anti-inflammatory effects.
Indications:
Nisolone is used to treat various conditions that involve inflammation and immune responses, such as:
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Acute rheumatic fever
- Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
- Severe bronchial asthma
- Intractable allergic rhinitis
- Exfoliative dermatitis
- Serum sickness
- Contact dermatitis
- Neurodermatitis
- Allergic eczema
- Uveitis
- Chorioretinitis
- Certain lymphatic neoplastic diseases (to induce temporary remission)
- Ulcerative colitis
- Nephrosis
Instructions:
- Dosage: The usual adult and adolescent dose is 5 to 60 mg per day, either as a single dose or divided doses. For acute exacerbations of multiple sclerosis, the dose is 200 mg per day for one week, followed by 80 mg every other day for one month1.
- Administration: Take the tablet orally with water. It should be taken whole, without crushing or chewing2.
- Precautions: Take the medication with meals to avoid stomach discomfort. Do not stop taking the medication suddenly, as this may cause severe side effects3. Inform your doctor if you have any infections, as corticosteroids can make it harder to fight infections.
- Warnings: Avoid alcohol while taking this medication. It is not recommended for use during pregnancy unless absolutely necessary2. Breastfeeding should be discussed with your doctor before using this medication.
