HI324N is a compact and lightweight auto-reverse magnetic stirrer with built-in tachometer and an AISI 316 stainless steel cover that supports a maximum capacity of 5 Liters. The adjustable reverse setting stirs the sample in both directions and are ideal for applications that require a homogeneous final product and complete dissolution of powders. The stainless steel top is ideal for stirring samples that are undergoing an exothermic reaction that could damage the cover of a stirrer made of plastic or solutions containing corrosive materials. A tachometer shows the stirring speed in RPM. The stirring speed is adjustable from 100 to 1000 RPM. The HI324N stirrer requires little room which is valuable when laboratory benchtop space is at a premium.

HI324N stirrer comes supplied with an AISI 316 stainless steel cover atop the ABS body. The cover is an ideal solution for applications in which exothermic reactions occur. The AISI 316 type of steel is known to have increased resistance to chloride corrosion as well.
Often in the lab a sample is removed from a stirrer before the speed is adequately reduced. Normally this would cause the internal motor to accelerate until it is damaged. To control the speed from changes in viscosity or removing of the load the HI324N magnetic mini-stirrer incorporates the Speedsafe™ mechanism. With Speedsafe, a speed sensing device (opto-sensor) is coupled with an FVC (frequency voltage converter) to monitor the stirring speed. As the speed reaches a preset maximum level, the speed limiter shuts down the VCO (voltage-controlled oscillator) to slow down the motor speed. This ensures that when the load is suddenly removed from the stirrer, the motor will not accelerate to such a high speed that will be hazardous to both the user and the stirrer; a feature not commonly found in conventional stirrers.
For safety, in the event of a short circuit, the HI324N is equipped with a replaceable fuse. The circuitry of the HI324N is grounded to the case for additional protection
