The Unique Diaphragm Valve UltraPure meets the requirements of most sterile and ultra-hygienic processes. These compact, lightweight valves are modular in design, which enables a wide range of purpose-built configurations.
The Alfa Laval Unique DV-ST UltraPure range consistently delivers documented, reliable, and contaminant-free aseptic performance.
Low delta-ferrite content valve bodies with specified sulphur content are standard for all forged and block valves.
The forged and welded valve bodies offer an economical lightweight alternative, which makes easy installation and efficient steam sterilization possible.
Alfa Laval’s broad range of well documented pharmaceutical grade diaphragms meet the requirements of FDA and USP classifications as well as TSE/ADI declarations. A high performance S2 EPDM diaphragm for continuous steam operation at temperatures up to 150 °C extends the lifetime of valves used in more demanding process environments.
Compact and lightweight, the actuators enable easy conversion of the control function (NC-Air/Air-NO). The unique design also permits adjustments of the actuator spring pressure to optimize the sealing function and lifetime of the diaphragm. Over-closure protection for all handles used for manual operation ensures a defined closure pressure against the diaphragm and prolongs diaphragm lifetime as well. All steel parts are made of stainless steel.
Create exactly the configuration you require. The Unique DV-ST UltraPure is constructed from a series of base parts that enables you to easily adapt the valve to the individual needs of a wide range of applications. See Documentation and How it works.

Alfa Laval diaphragm valves are built around a weir-type system. This is available in a wide range of hard and soft compounds, extending from PTFE with either EPDM or silicone as backing plate to EPDM with a Kevlar core if extra mechanical stability is required.
Alfa Laval aseptic diaphragm valves can be operated by handles or pneumatic actuators. Such actuators can be fitted with an extensive range of control and monitoring equipment, including control units, position indicators, seal adjusters and stroke limiters.
Equipment and components in the Alfa Laval BioPharm portfolio are supplied with Alfa Laval Q-doc, a comprehensive documentation package that provides full transparency of the entire supply chain, from raw material to final equipment delivery. This smoothes purchasing and installation procedures as well as facilitates qualification, validation and change control procedures. Based on GDP (Good Documentation Practice), Alfa Laval Q-doc covers every aspect of biotech and pharmaceutical equipment supply and provides customers with transparent and well-documented quality assurance of the sourced equipment.
The standard Unique DV-ST UltraPure consists of a valve body, diaphragm, handle or actuator. Optional automation and control units are available. With a full modular design, the Unique DV-ST UltraPure can be built to meet virtually any demand within the biotech and pharmaceutical industries.
For manual operation, the Unique DV-ST UltraPure is controlled by means of a handle. A simple turn of the handle will push the compressor downwards on the diaphragm, pressing the diaphragm against the weir of the valve body thereby closing the valve.
The handle can be made of full stainless steel, stainless steel composite, full composite or an epoxy version. All have a standard optical positioner and over closure protection*. As an option, the handle can incorporate a lockable function for security. The handle is fitted onto the valve by means of four screws and bolts.
*Except composite handle.
The Unique DV-ST UltraPure can be controlled from remote location by means of compressed air using a pneumatic actuator. The actuator controls the axial movement of a piston, thereby opening or closing the valve depending on the actuator function.
The actuator is available in three standard versions: normally closed (NC), normally open (NO) and air/air activated (A/A). All versions have an integrated optical positioner. The actuator is fitted on to the valve by means of four screws and bolts.
