JARYTHERM® DBT
Product Description
JARYTHERM® DBT is a synthetic heat transfer fluid, formulated from a blend of dibenzyltoluene isomers. This fluid is engineered to provide exceptional thermal stability and efficiency in high-temperature applications, particularly in the chemical and plastics transformation industries.
Applications
JARYTHERM® DBT is ideal for heat transfer installations operating from 0°C to +350°C in the bulk (up to 370°C in the film) without air contact. It is commonly used in the chemical and plastics industries, including barrel extruders.
Specifications
JARYTHERM® DBT conforms to ISO 6743/12 class L-QD-350 and passes thermal stability tests such as ASTM D6743, DIN 51528, and GB/T 23800-2009 (1000h, 350°C).
Advantages
This fluid offers extended drain intervals due to its excellent stability to thermal cracking, preventing carbon deposit formation and maintaining heat exchange efficiency. It also boasts outstanding resistance to oxidation, ensuring long-term operational safety even with limited air exposure.
Typical Properties
JARYTHERM® DBT has the following typical properties:
- At 20°C, it has a density of 1043 kg/m³ and a kinematic viscosity of 50 mm²/s.
- At 100°C, the density is 987 kg/m³, and the kinematic viscosity is 3 mm²/s.
- At 200°C, the density is 914 kg/m³, and the kinematic viscosity is 0.82 mm²/s.
- At 300°C, the density is 834 kg/m³, and the kinematic viscosity is 0.44 mm²/s.
- Specific heat capacity ranges from 1.60 kJ/kg°C at 20°C to 2.51 kJ/kg°C at 300°C.
- Thermal conductivity ranges from 0.128 W/m°C at 20°C to 0.105 W/m°C at 300°C.
Performance Characteristics
JARYTHERM® DBT has a flash point of 200°C and a fire point of 230°C. Its pour point is -34°C, and it has a boiling point of 390°C (under 760 mmHg). The total decomposition rate is 6.9% after 1000 hours at 350°C. It operates effectively between 0°C and +350°C in the bulk, and up to 370°C in the film.
Conversion Factors
- 1 Kcal/kg°C equals 4184 J/kg°C.
- 1 Kcal/m.h°C equals 1.162 W/m°C.
- 1 mm Hg equals 133 Pa.
