Indication
Co-Aprovel is used for treating high blood pressure. It may be used to decrease the risk of stroke in certain patients with high blood pressure. Co-Aprovel is a combination angiotensin II receptor blocker and diuretic. The angiotensin II receptor blocker works by relaxing the blood vessels.

Drug interaction
Psychotherapeutic medications such as anxiolytics, sedatives, hypnotics, antidepressants, antipsychotics, opioids, alcohol, muscle relaxants used concurrently with Co-Aprovel may result in additive effects on blood pressure and orthostasis. As Irbesartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker moderate-to-high dietary intake of potassium, especially salt substitutes, may increase the risk of hyperkalemia in some patients.
