May be taken with or without food.
Drug interaction
Not recommended with/ live attenuated vaccines. Caution is recommended in administration w/ K-sparing & -containing drugs, lercanidipine. Increased or decreased ciclosporin levels by barbiturates, carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine, phenytoin, rifampicin, nafcillin, sulfadimidine IV, octreotide, probucol, orlistat, Hypericum perforatum (St. John's wort), ticlopidine, sulfinpyrazone, terbinafine, bosentan, macrolides (eg, erythromycin, azithromycin, clarithromycin), ketoconazole, fluconazole, itraconazole, voriconazole, diltiazem, nicardipine, verapamil, metoclopramide, OCs, danazol, methylprednisolone (high dose), allopurinol, amiodarone, cholic acid & derivatives, protease inhibitors, imatinib, nefazodone. Potential increased nephrotoxicity w/ aminogylcosides, amphotericin B, ciprofloxacin, vancomycin, melphalan, trimethoprim, (w/ sulfamethoxazole), NSAIDs (including diclofenac), H2-receptor antagonists, tacrolimus, methotrexate, fibric acid derivatives (eg, bezafibrate, fenofibrate). Increased rate of gingival hyperplasia w/ nifedipine. Increased plasma levels of HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (statins), colchicine, digoxin, etoposide, everolimus, sirolimus, repaglinide, aliskerin, dabigatran, bosentan, ambrisentan & anthracyclines (eg, doxorubicine).
