Timoptol-XE 0.5% Eye Drops are indicated for:
Reduction of elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with:
Ocular hypertension
Chronic open-angle glaucoma
Aphakic glaucoma
Secondary glaucoma (in certain cases)
Narrow-angle glaucoma with a history of spontaneous or iatrogenically induced narrow-angle closure in the opposite eye
Dosage:
Initially, instill 1 drop of 0.25% Timoptol-XE in the affected eye(s) once daily.
If clinical response is not adequate, dosage may be increased to 1 drop of 0.5% Timoptol-XE in the affected eye(s) once daily.
Administration:
Wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying the eye drops.
Shake the bottle gently before use.
Tilt your head back and look upwards.
Pull down the lower eyelid to form a pouch.
Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it to avoid contamination.
Gently squeeze the dropper to instill one drop into the lower eyelid pouch.
Close your eye and press your finger against the inner corner of the closed eye (the side where the eye meets the nose) and hold for 1 minute.
Wipe off any excess liquid.
Wait for at least 5 minutes before administering another drop into the same eye to prevent the first drop from being washed out.
Storage:
Keep the eye drops in a cool, dry place where the temperature stays below 30°C.
Do not store in the bathroom or near a sink.
Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
Keep out of reach of children.
Disposal:
Write the date on the bottle when you open it.
Discard any remaining solution after 4 weeks to reduce the risk of eye infection.
