Based on the Malaysian Patient Information Leaflet (PIL), Utrogestan is indicated for disorders related to progesterone insufficiency in women, including:
Menstrual irregularities (oligomenorrhea, amenorrhea)
Benign mastopathy
Premenstrual syndrome (PMS)
Menopausal symptoms (used with estrogen as part of HRT)
According to SmPC and PIL sources:
Dosage as HRT:
Standard: /200 /mg at bedtime for 12 days each cycle (Days /15–26), with possible withdrawal bleeding in the following week
Alternative regimen: /100 /mg nightly from Day /1 to Day /25 of each cycle to reduce frequency of bleeding
Administration:
Take orally at bedtime, without food—food increases progesterone absorption and may alter effects
