Concurrent use of antacids may result in systemic alkalosis, may promote development of Ca stones and cause hypernatraemia; concurrent use of Al-containing antacids may increase Al absorption possibly resulting in acute Al toxicity. Citrates may reduce solubility of quinolones in the urine; patients should be observed for signs of crystalluria and nephrotoxicity. Salicylates may increase the urinary excretion and decrease therapeutic effects of salicylates.
