Ispaghula husk
Indication
Constipation and Mild to moderate hypercholesterolaemia.
Instruction
Should be taken on an empty stomach. Take before meals w/ a full glass of water. Adult: PO Constipation 3.5 g 1-3 times/day. Mild to moderate hypercholesterolaemia as adjunct to lipid-lowering diet: 7.5-10 g/day. All doses to be mixed w/ a full glass of liq.
Drug interaction
May delay or reduce the GI absorption of other drugs e.g. cardiac glycosides, coumarin derivatives, lithium, or vit (e.g. vit B12) and minerals (e.g. Ca, Fe, or Zn).
