Perampanel 4 mg: A selective, non-competitive antagonist of AMPA receptors, used as an antiepileptic medication to control seizures.
Adjunctive treatment of partial-onset seizures, with or without secondarily generalized seizures, in patients aged 12 years and older with epilepsy.
Adjunctive treatment of primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures in adult and adolescent patients from 12 years of age with idiopathic generalized epilepsy.
Administration: Take orally once daily at bedtime.
Dosage:
Partial-onset seizures: Start with 2 mg/day; may increase by 2 mg increments to a maximum of 12 mg/day based on clinical response and tolerability.
Primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures: Start with 2 mg/day; may increase by 2 mg increments to a maximum of 12 mg/day.
Precautions:
May be taken with or without food.
Swallow whole; do not chew, crush, or split the tablet.
Use with caution in patients with hepatic or renal impairment.
Monitor for psychiatric and behavioral changes.
Avoid alcohol consumption due to potential enhancement of central nervous system side effects.
