Losartan K
Indication
HTN. Reduce risk of stroke in patients w/ HTN & left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH). Diabetic nephropathy w/ elevated serum creatinine & proteinuria in patient w/ type 2 diabetes & history of HTN.
Instruction
May be taken with or without food.
Drug interaction
Decreased conc by rifampicin. Increased conc by fluconazole. Increased serum K w/ K-sparing diuretics, K supplements or K-containing salt substitutes. Blunted antihypertensive effect by indomethacin. Dual blockade of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system w/ angiotensin-receptor blockers, ACE inhibitors or aliskiren.
