Amoxicillin trihydrate
Indication
Dental abscesses, Uncomplicated acute urinary tract infections, Uncomplicated gonorrhoea, H. pylori infection, Severe or recurrent respiratory tract infections, Actinomycosis, Biliary tract infections, Bronchitis, Endocarditis, Gastroenteritis, Gonorrhoea, Mouth infections, Otitis media, Pneumonia, Spleen disorders, Typhoid and paratyphoid fever, Urinary tract infections, Prophylaxis of endocarditis, Pharyngitis, Tonsillitis.
Instruction
May be taken with or without food. May be taken w/ meals for better absorption & to reduce GI discomfort.
Drug interaction
May reduce the efficacy of OC. May increase the effect of anticoagulants. Increased risk of allergic reactions w/ allopurinol. Increased and prolonged blood levels w/ probenecid. Chloramphenicol, macrolides, sulfonamides and tetracyclines may interfere w/ the bactericidal effect of amoxicillin.
