Abacavir sulfate
Indication
Antiretroviral combination therapy for HIV in adult & childn.
Instruction
Adult, adolescent & childn at least 25 kg 15 mL bd or 30 mL once daily. Childn <14 kg 8 mg/kg bd or 16 mg/kg once daily, up to max: 300 mg bd or 600 mg once daily. Mild hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh score 5-6) 200 mg (10 mL) bd.
Drug interaction
Increased AUC by ethanol. Reduced Cmax & delayed tmax w/ methadone.
