Indication
Corneal ulcers & conjunctivitis caused by susceptible organisms.
 
Instruction
Corneal ulcers Day 1: Instill 2 drops into affected eye every 15 min for 1st 6 hr then 2 drops into affected eye every 30 min for the rest of the day. Day 2: Instill 2 drops into affected eye hrly. Day 3-14: Instill 2 drops into affected eye every 4 hr. May be continued after 14 days if response has not occurred. Bacterial conjunctivitis Instill 1 or 2 drops into conjunctival sac every 2 hr for 2 days then every 4 hr for the next 5 days.
 
Drug interaction
Elevated plasma conc of theophylline. Interfered metabolism of caffeine. Enhanced effect of oral anticoagulant, warfarin & derivatives. Transient serum creatinine elevations w/ cyclosporin.
