Indications:
GLUCOPHAGE is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. It helps control blood sugar levels in adults when diet and exercise alone are not enough2. It can be used alone or in combination with other medications, but it is not suitable for treating type 1 diabetes.
Instructions:
- Dosage: The usual starting dose is 500 mg twice daily with meals or 850 mg once daily with a meal. The dose may be adjusted based on blood glucose measurements3.
- Administration: Take the tablet during or after meals to reduce stomach upset.
- Monitoring: Regularly monitor blood glucose levels and kidney function.
- Precautions: Do not take GLUCOPHAGE if you have severe kidney disease, metabolic acidosis, or diabetic ketoacidosis. Inform your doctor if you have any liver problems, heart disease, or if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant4.
