Natural conjugated estrogens
Indication
Moderate to severe vasomotor symptoms associated w/ estrogen deficiency. Prevention & management of osteoporosis associated w/ estrogen deficiency. Atrophic vaginitis & urethritis. Female hypoestrogenism.
Instruction
May be taken with or without food: Swallow whole, do not divide/chew/crush or dissolve tab in mouth.
Drug interaction
Reduced plasma conc w/ CYP3A4 inducers eg, St. John's wort, phenobarb, phenytoin, carbamazepine, rifampicin & dexamethasone. Increased plasma conc w/ CYP3A4 inhibitors eg, cimetidine, erythromycin, clarithromycin, ketoconazole, itraconazole, ritonavir & grapefruit juice. Reduced response to metyrapone.
