Metformin HCl
Indication
Type 2 DM in adult particularly in overwt patients when dietary management & exercise alone does not result in adequate glycaemic control. May be used as monotherapy or in combination w/ other oral antidiabetic agents or w/ insulin.
Instruction
Should be taken with food: Take w/ the evening meal. Swallow whole do not chew/crush.
Drug interaction
Alcohol, iodinated contrast agents, glucocorticoids, β2-agonists, diuretics, ACE inhibitors.
