Klingspor developed the abrasive disc PS 11 C especially for applications on paint and varnish that are common in the car repair industry. It is ideal for processing:
This abrasive disc is designed for use with machinery and comes in a wide variety of sizes and grits.
The abrasive disc PS 11 C is suited for wet and dry sanding thanks to its paper backing (C-paper) and the close coating of its silicon carbide grain. C-paper is strong enough to provide the necessary stability. Yet, it is also thin enough to allow the disc to contour snugly to the surface that is being sanded. This abrasive disc is an ideal tool for both wet and dry sanding applications.
The abrasive grain used for the abrasive disc PS 11 C is composed of silicon carbide. This crystalline material is ultra hard, yet not as tough as other grains, such as aluminium oxide. A grain made of silicon carbide is exceptionally sharp-edged and brittle. This is why it breaks easily. Since made synthetically, the silicon carbide grain will never suffer any loss of quality. Suitable for both wet and dry sanding, the grain is bonded to the paper backing (C-paper) with synthetic resin. The close coating ensures that nearly the entire surface of the abrasive disc is covered with grain. This coating distributes the pressure generated during sanding across a large number of grain points. The lower pressure ensures that each individual point will penetrate the material evenly compared to something more open coated. This abrasive disc is therefore also well suited for finer sanding applications on paint and varnish. Meanwhile, the large number of grain points also provides for a high stock removal rate. Finally, the lower pressure exerted on the individual points keeps the disc from wearing out prematurely. This quality leads to an extended service life of the abrasive disc.
