Description
Elderton has been using the small amount of Merlot produced on the estate as a blender with Cabernet Sauvignon.
Since the Merlot varieties are so outstanding, we decided to brew a single variety in order to offer the best quality Merlot can offer.
Our Nuriootpa vineyard is about 72cm in size and has only one patch of Merlot, where the soil is sandier and better drained than near the river bed.
Our Merlot is fermented in open concrete vats,It is then aged in 100% French oak barrels for approximately 11 months.
This gives the wine time to meld together and develop delicate oak flavors and tannins to build the palate.
This Merlot has rich fruit flavors and fine tannin balance.
Aroma：Spicy cherry fruit and cinnamon
Taste：Some red currants, cherries and blackberries, mixed with leafy green herbal notes and toasty notes balanced by the weight of the fruit.
