Emergency treatment of anaphylactic shock due to insect bites, drugs, or other allergens.
Symptomatic relief of serum sickness, urticaria, pruritus, and angioneurotic oedema.
Management of respiratory distress due to bronchospasm.
Relief of hypersensitivity reactions to drugs and other allergens.
Dosage:
Bronchodilator (Subcutaneous): Initially 200 to 500 mcg (0.2 to 0.5 mg), repeated every 20 minutes to 4 hours as needed, up to a maximum of 1 mg per dose.
Anaphylactic Reactions (Intramuscular or Subcutaneous): Initially 200 to 500 mcg (0.2 to 0.5 mg), repeated every 10 to 15 minutes if necessary, up to a maximum of 1 mg per dose.
Administration: Administer via intramuscular (IM) or subcutaneous (SC) injection.
Storage: Store below 30°C, away from light and moisture.
Precautions: Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, or hypertension.
Drug Interactions: May interact with halogenated inhalation anaesthetics, β- or α-blocking agents, methyldopa, guanethidine, drugs with vasoconstrictor and pressor effects, antihypertensives, adrenergic neuron blockers, potassium-depleting drugs, cardiac glycosides, ephedra, yohimbe, and tricyclic antidepressants.
