Fluvastatin
Indication
Adult Treatment of primary hypercholesterolaemia & mixed dyslipidaemia in patients with inadequate response to dietary control & slowing of the progression of coronary atherosclerosis in patient with primary hypercholesterolaemia or CHD. Secondary prevention of major adverse cardiac events in patients w/ CHD after coronary transcatheter therapy. Childn & adolescents ≥9 yr Treatment of heterozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia.
Instruction
May be taken with or without food: XR tab: Swallow whole, do not chew/crush.
Drug interaction
Bile acid-sequestering agents; cimetidine, ranitidine, omeprazole, rifampicin.
