- Active Ingredient: Latanoprost (0.005% or 50 mcg/mL)
- Inactive Ingredients: Sodium chloride, sodium dihydrogen phosphate monohydrate, disodium hydrogen phosphate anhydrous, benzalkonium chloride (0.02% as a preservative), and water for injection
Indication:
XALATAN is indicated for the reduction of elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. It helps to prevent optic nerve damage and visual field loss by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor from the eye.
Instructions:
- Dosage: The recommended dosage is one drop in the affected eye(s) once daily in the evening.
- Administration:
- Wash your hands before using the eye drops.
- Tilt your head back and pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pocket.
- Hold the dropper above your eye and squeeze out a drop.
- Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes, and gently press the corner of your eye near the nose to prevent the liquid from draining away.
- If you need to use other eye drops, wait at least 5 minutes before applying them.
- Precautions:
- Do not use XALATAN while wearing contact lenses. Wait at least 15 minutes after using the drops before putting your lenses back in.
- Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface, including your eye or hands, to prevent contamination.
- If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember, but do not double the dose.
