Puttycise® Theraputty® tool - Cap Turn There's a new twist in hand therapy. Puttycise® is great for use with Theraputty® to increase function and versatility.
The Cap Turn tool is used by occupational and physical therapists to strengthen muscles and improve coordination for activities such as opening or closing a water bottle. The Cap Turn tool is one of five different Puttycise tools intended to be used with putty to provide resistance exercises for patients who need to improve strength and coordination.
The Cap Turn tool simulates the following activities:opening/closing a water bottle, turning on a stove, tightening a large bolt.
Joint protection techniques to consider when using the Cap Turn tool include uusing a 'C' grasp when opening a water bottle to avoid ulnar stress to MP joints and loading to the CMC joint.
Puttycise® tools can be pushed, pulled or turned through exercise putty to
generate specified exercises.
Changing the putty resistance will increase or decrease the difficulty level.
The Puttycise® family consists of 5 functional tools which all work by inserting the tool base into exercise putty.
