Ciclosporin
Indication
Transplantation: Solid organ transplantation (kidney, liver, heart, combined heart-lung, lung, pancreas); bone marrow transplantation. Non-transplantation: Endogenous uveitis; nephrotic syndrome; severe active rheumatoid arthritis; severe psoriasis; severe atopic dermatitis.
Instruction
Administer via IV Infusion over approximately 2 to 6 hours.
Drug interaction
Not recommended w/ live attenuated vaccines. Caution is recommended in administration w/ K-sparing & -containing drugs, lercanidipine. Increased or decreased ciclosporin levels by barbiturates, carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine, phenytoin, rifampicin, nafcillin, sulfadimidine IV, octreotide, probucol, orlistat, Hypericum perforatum (St. John's wort), ticlopidine, sulfinpyrazone, terbinafine, bosentan, macrolides (eg, erythromycin, azithromycin, clarithromycin), ketoconazole, fluconazole, itraconazole, voriconazole, diltiazem, nicardipine, verapamil, metoclopramide, OCs, danazol, methylprednisolone (high dose), allopurinol, amiodarone, cholic acid & derivatives, protease inhibitors, imatinib, nefazodone. Potential increased nephrotoxicity w/ aminogylcosides, amphotericin B, ciprofloxacin, vancomycin, melphalan, trimethoprim, (w/ sulfamethoxazole), NSAIDs (including diclofenac), H2-receptor antagonists, tacrolimus, methotrexate, fibric acid derivatives (eg, bezafibrate, fenofibrate). Increased rate of gingival hyperplasia w/ nifedipine. Increased plasma levels of HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (statins), colchicine, digoxin, etoposide, everolimus, sirolimus, repaglinide, aliskerin, dabigatran, bosentan, ambrisentan & anthracyclines (eg, doxorubicine).
