Opteon™ XP44 (R-452A) refrigerant is a non-ozone depleting, low global warming potential (GWP) hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) based replacement for R-404A and R-507 refrigerants. It can be used in new commercial refrigeration equipment and for the retrofit of existing systems.
Opteon™ XP44 is well-suited for use in direct-expansion (DX) chillers, as well as for commercial systems that provide low- and medium-temperature transport DX refrigeration, such as refrigerated trucks, refrigerated vans, and reefer containers. It also can be used in low- and medium-temperature commercial and industrial DX refrigeration systems.
Opteon™ XP44 is approved and adopted by major commercial refrigeration equipment manufacturers. It offers a similar compressor discharge temperature and mass flow rate of R-404A and R-507.
