Welding Electrode RB-26 - KOBELCO

The KOBELCO RB-26 welding electrode is a high titania type covered electrode for welding mild steel. It is widely used for welding sheets of ships, rolling stocks, and automobiles, for ornamental surfacing of thick plates.

The RB-26 electrode has the following advantages:

• Stable arc and shallow penetration, which enables welding of 0.8 mm sheets.
• Rarely causes spatter, resulting in beautiful beads.
• Good slag detachability.
• Easy to carry out downward welding in the vertical position, resulting in a beautiful bead appearance.
• Can be used with both AC and DC power sources.

The RB-26 electrode is available in sizes 2.6mm, 3.2mm, 4.0mm, and 5.0mm. It is important to dry the electrode before use, as it absorbs moisture if stored or left for a long time. The recommended drying temperature is 70°C to 100°C for 30 to 60 minutes.
