The cleanrooms for biotechnology is specially designed to provide aseptic areas and total containment of the organisms and processes within the facilities. Organisms are prevented from being released to the environment and having direct contact with the personnel inside the facilities.
The facilities are categorised to BSL-1, BSL-2, BSL-3 and BSL-4 in ascending order in terms of bio-safety level.
