Ambroxol HCl
Indication
Mucolytic.
Instruction
Should be taken with food.
Adult: As Ambroxol hydrochloride: 30 mg tid or 60 mg bid. As extended-release cap: 75 mg once daily.
Child: As Ambroxol hydrochloride: <2 years 7.5-15 mg bid. 2-5 years 7.5-15 mg tid; 6-12 years 15-30 mg bid or tid; >12 years Same as adult dose.
Drug interaction
Increased risk of congestion of secretion with antitussives. Increased serum concentration with antibiotics (e.g. cefuroxime, doxycycline, erythromycin).
