Penerangan
A keloid scar is a thick raised scar and usually larger than the original wound. When the skin is injured, scar tissue forms over the wound to repair and protect. When there is extra growth of scar tissue, it will form a smooth, hard growths called keloids. They are commonly found on the chest wall, shoulders, earlobes, and cheeks. If you had a history of keloid, you’re at risk of developing others.
Treatments available are injection of corticosteroids and laser treatment after a series of corticosteroid injections. Sillicone gel pads or pressure pads after an injury can help prevent keloids.
