Penerangan

Scars form as part of healing process after the skin is injured. The skin repairs itself by growing new tissue to pull the wound together and fillthe gap caused by the injury. Scar tissue is madely collagen. Scars develop in all sizes and shapes. Scars can happen after a trauma, acne, chicken pox scar, post inflammatory scar, post infection or post surgical. There are a few types of scars such as hypotrophic scar, hypertrophic scars and hyperpigmented spots.
Hypotropic scars form due to loss of normal viable tissue as a result of inflammation. Examples of hypotrophic scars are ice pick scars, box scars, rolling scars (valley scars), and depressed fibrotic scars.
These scars can be treated with microdermabrasion, chemical peeling, microneedling, laser skin resurfacing, fillers, subcision, and laser resurfacing.

Hypertrophic scar or keloid scar typically occur when there is excessive scar tissue formation. This results in a hard, elevated scar that may be bigger than the original wound. Raised scar can be treated with 5-FU injection, laser therapy, scar cream, gels and silicone dressing.

Hyperpigmented spots are flat patches or spots of discoloured skin, also known as post inflammation hyperpigmentation or post inflammation erythema

Treatments can reduce the scar size and appearance but the scar will never completely go away. Topical creams and ointment can help prevent scar formation.
