Glenfiddich 15 Year Old Vat 03 is a single malt Scotch whiskey from the Glenfiddich distillery. This expression is part of their Experimental Series, which showcases innovative approaches to whiskey-making.
Vat 03 refers to the vatting or blending of different casks to create a unique flavor profile. In the case of Glenfiddich 15 Year Old Vat 03, the whiskey is matured in a combination of American oak, sherry, and virgin oak casks. This combination of cask types imports distinct characteristics to the final product.
This rich and sweet single malt is carefully matured in European oak sherry, new oak and ex-bourbon casks for over 15 years before harmonising in our unique Solera VAT 03.
The third expression in Glenfiddich's Perpetual Collection. Originally released as a travel exclusive, in a style similar to Spanish sherry soleras, VAT 03 combines whisky matured in sherry and bourbon casks for 15 years, with half of its contents emptied and bottled before fresh spirit is added.
