The name, Sanuki Hime, originates from its cultivar region in Sanuki City, Kagawa Prefecture. Its pretty conical shape and bright red pericap gives an imprssion of "Pretty Things" to japanese people. and therefore "Hime", aka Princess, has been given.
With a soft texture, juicy pulp overflowing with fruit juice, its rich fragrance spreads within the mouth with each bite. As compared to other strawberries where the sweetness level is not as high at the start of the season, Sanuki Hime maintains its sweetness throughout the season, and makes an excellent gift for its beautiful apperance.
