Content:

• Active Ingredient: Chlorpromazine Hydrochloride 100 mg per tablet.

• Primary Use: Treatment of schizophrenia, other psychoses (especially paranoid), mania, hypomania, anxiety psychomotor agitation, excitement, violent or dangerously impulsive behavior, intractable hiccups, and nausea and vomiting of terminal illness.
• Mechanism: Chlorpromazine is a phenothiazine neuroleptic that works by blocking postsynaptic dopamine receptors in the brain, which helps to improve psychotic symptoms.

• Dosage for Adults: Initially 25 mg three times daily or 75 mg at bedtime, increasing by daily amounts of 25 mg until an effective maintenance dose is reached (usually in the range of 75 to 300 mg daily, but some patients may require up to 1 g daily).
• Dosage for Children: Dosage is adjusted based on body weight and age.
• Precautions: Avoid use in cases of coma due to direct central nervous depressants, hypersensitivity to chlorpromazine, bone marrow depression, liver or renal dysfunction, Parkinson’s disease, hypothyroidism, cardiac failure, phaeochromocytoma, myasthenia gravis, prostate hypertrophy.
• Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
