Yeast and mold cause various degrees of deterioration and decomposition of food. Products that contain yeast and mold cells do not usually cause human illness, but high levels of these organisms cause products to look, smell or taste bad. This can result in substantial economic losses and diminish the brand and appeal of the product. The BAX System PCR Assay for Yeast and Mold gets you results in two days (for enriched samples), and the same day for direct testing. Bringing the power of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to your facility provides greater accuracy, exceptional sensitivity, and faster time to results. The system is easy to use--tabulated reagents reduce operator error, and the BAX closed-cap system avoids amplicon contamination. You can even detect presence/absence against your own customizable action thresholds.
