Description

Under Occupational Safety and Health (Use and Standard of Exposure of Chemicals Hazardous to Health) Regulation 2000, Chemical Health Risk Assessment (CHRA) has to be conducted by the employer arising from the use, handling, storage or transportation of chemicals hazardous to health in their workplace.

The employer needs to appoint an assessor registered with Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) to conduct the chemical health risk assessment in their workplace. 2. Propose any appropriate control measure, induction of training of employees, air contaminant monitoring and health surveillance program
  3. Identify the hazard posed by each chemical substance used, stored , handled or transported within the place of work
  4. Evaluate the degree of exposure of employees to chemical hazardous to health used through routes of entry; inhalation, dermal or ingestion.
