The NHK R1 helmet was developed to continue the success of the previous open face NHK helmet, the NHK R6 which was launched in 2011. The NHK R1 helmet is designed with a more masculine shape and model compared to the NHK R6, this can be seen from the shape of the vents or spoiler. the back of the helmet is sharper so that it gives a tougher and more masculine impression.
