Description
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
NCL DH-50 ACRYLIC SEAL is an acrylic-based, low viscosity waterproofing resin and curtain grouting material designed to stop water leakages especially underground infrastructure in permanent water contact such as tunnel, subway, basement etc. Generally, the acrylic resin is injected behind leaking concrete structure into the soil layer. The reaction time of the material is controllable with the addition of Catalyst to cope with different site condition. Once cured, NCL DH-50 ACRYLIC SEAL forms a highly elastic water-impermeable layer which prevent concrete structure from damages caused by external groundwater infiltration.
COMPOSITION
NCL DH-50 Acrylate Seal is a multi-component acrylic gel system which consists of Part (A) Resin, Part (A) Catalyst, Part (B) Resin and Part (B) Hardener. The sub-components are pre-mixed with the main components before application (refer to NCL DH-50 Mixing Method). All components are then intermixed during application to form highly flexible acrylic gel.

APPLICATION METHOD
Preparation
-
Inspect the structure to be treated according to regulations and technical standards.
-
Refer to technical drawings to avoid steel bar, mark injection point in approximately 1000mm grid (refer to Figure 1).
-
Drill holes at marked injection point through the entire thickness of concrete.
-
Clean drilled holes and install injection packers.

Mixing
-
Add 5kg Catalyst into 20kg Resin A and add 5kg Hardener into 20kg Resin B. Material containers are color coded.
-
Once the sub-components are added into the resins, mix Component A and Component B separately manually or using electric mixer in low speed (less than 500 rpm) for 3 minutes until homogeneous (refer to figure 2).
-
Fill injection machine with pre-mixed NCL DH-50 Acrylic Resin (25kg Component A & 25kg Component B).
Figure 2: NCL DH-50 Mixing Method
Injection
-
NCL DH-50 Acrylic Resin should be injected using a two-component/twin-line injection machine, e.g. NCL DHP-M3000 or NCL ARC-3000.
-
Connect the injection nozzle to the injection packer and commence injection.
-
In the event of treating vertical structure, commence injection from the bottom. In case of horizontal structure, begin from either side. Vertical structure must be treated before proceeding to horizontal structure.
-
Move to the above/next injection packer if material started to flow out from surrounding injection point.
-
Repeat injection procedure until all packers are injected. In case of heavy leakages, accelerate the reaction time by mixing additional Catalyst into Component A (refer to reaction data).
Machine Cleaning
-
Flush injection machine with clean water immediately after use.
-
Cured acrylic gel can only be cleaned mechanically.
FINAL PRODUCT
The acrylic resin cures to a highly elastic water-impermeable layer which serve as a waterproofing protection layer behind concrete structure in permanent water contact. The cured acrylic gel is swellable when exposed to water.

STORAGE & HANDLING
It is recommended to keep container tightly closed in a cool (20 - 25°C), dry and well-ventilated place. Partly used drums/pails should be properly sealed to prevent ingress of moisture. To increase the material life expectancy, partially used drum/pail can be filled with nitrogen gas and sealed tightly to prevent contamination. When the material is stored properly, the shelf life is approximately twelve (12) months from the production date.
WASTE DISPOSAL
Waste disposal should be in accordance with all applicable local and national regulations. Kindly check with the local authorities on proper disposal method. Empty drums/pails should be punctured to clear the content. Care must be taken to prevent environmental contamination from the use of this material.
HEALTH & SAFETY
-
Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Treat symptomatically and get medical attention immediately.
-
Inhalation: Remove from exposure. If there is any difficulty in breathing, get medical attention immediately.
-
Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing. Immediately flush affected area thoroughly with mild soap and water.
-
Eye Contact: Immediately flood eyes with plenty of water for a minimum of 15 minutes holding the eyes open.
