Stainless Steel Grade 439 is capable of being made into complex shapes example tubular manifolds and exhaust system components , where temperatures tend to go beyond the oxidation limit of SUS409 Stainless Steels.

SUS439 Stainless Steel is also prefered where wet corrosion resistance especially to chlorides is needed.

SS439 is an 18% Chromium, Titanium Stabilized Ferritic Stainless Steel with similar corrosion resistance to SS304/SS304L Stainless Steel. 439 Stainless Steel has good weldability due to the Titanium Stabilization and has excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking.

Stainless Steel 439 has good weldability, brightness and pitting corrosion resistance. It polishes well, and it is good for deep drawing. SUS439 performs better than SUS409 in both oxidation and also corrosion resistance and typical applications including tubular manifolds and exhaust system components.
