Description
Carpet cleaning has evolved quite a bit over the years. It started out as an old-fashioned method, in which a brush machine applied a foaming substance to a carpet. Once this was done, the carpet would be wet vacuumed to remove the foam. It would then be left to dry.
The process is relatively simple and takes about 20 minutes. However, too much water can result in a discolored, dingy carpet, or tearing from the floor. A soaked carpet is difficult to dry, and its high moisture content can cause mold to form. Another common mistake in this process is over-shampooing, which can leave a soapy residue that is impossible to remove. It can also attract more dirt.
