Ciprofloxacin HCl
Indication
Resp tract, middle ear, paranasal sinuses, kidneys &/or efferent urinary tract, genital organ, abdominal cavity, skin & soft tissue, eyes, bone & joint infections. Sepsis. Prophylaxis in patients w/ weakened immune system. Selective intestinal decontamination in immunosuppressed patients.
Instruction
Administered by IV infusion over a period of 60 min. Slow infusion into a large vein will minimize patient discomfort and reduce the risk of venous irritation. The infusion solution can be infused either directly or after mixing with other compatible infusion solutions.
Drug interaction
Increased serum conc & elimination t½ of theophylline. Delayed excretion w/ probenecid.
