In May 2010, the AMD Athlon II X4 610e, a four-core desktop processor, was introduced. It uses Socket AM3 and the Propus architecture as part of the Athlon II X4 range. The Athlon II X4 610e processor runs at 2.4 GHz and has 512 KB of L2 cache per core. AMD uses 300 million transistors on a 45 nm production node to create the Athlon II X4 610e.
