In September 2010, the AMD Athlon II X2 220, a two-core desktop CPU, was introduced. It is a member of the Athlon II X2 family and uses Socket AM3 and the Regor architecture. The Athlon II X2 220 processor runs at 2.8 GHz and has 512 KB of L2 cache. AMD used 410 million transistors in a 45 nm manufacturing process to create the Athlon II X2 220.
