In February 2011, the Intel Core i3-2100, a two-core desktop processor, was introduced with a $117 MSRP. It uses Socket 1155 and the Sandy Bridge architecture as part of the Core i3 range. Intel Hyper-Threading allows for an effective doubling of the core count, resulting in 4 threads. The Core i3-2100 processor runs at 3.1 GHz and has 3 MB of L3 cache. Using 504 million transistors, Intel is producing the Core i3-2100 on a 32 nm production node.
