• Screening: Large objects such as rags, plastics, and debris are filtered out through coarse screens to prevent clogging downstream treatment equipment.
• Comminution: Remaining large particles that are too big for the screening process are shredded into smaller pieces using grinders, ensuring they do not disrupt the treatment flow.
• Grit Removal: Sand, gravel, and other heavy particles settle at the bottom of a grit chamber or are skimmed off the surface, preventing damage to downstream systems.
