Putting wax / Sealant over a bad paint finish will just seal in the imperfections and will not enhance the appearance of the paint. Sealant and Wax products are foaming only soft protective layers can be faded after washes or rain showers.
Waxing over surfaces that need polishing or compounding will only create a temporary gloss. Waxing provide an extra level of paint protection while yielding a high gloss finish. Generally wax a car once a month or every 2-3 months, depend on wax qualities
