The uprated 6.2L V8 engine in the Black Series features a revised ECU, a lighter crankshaft, forged pistons, connecting rods, and an optimized oil cooler. These changes allow for higher revs and improved heat management, contributing to increased power and durability under track conditions. While sharing the same 7-speed AMG Speedshift MCT with the standard C63, the Black Series gets the software revised for aggressive shift time in race modes
As comparison to the the standard C63, a significant "BLACK SERIES" suspensions upgrade with adjustable coil-over suspension, offering adjustable rebound and compression settings, allowing for fine-tuning of the ride height, camber, and toe. The suspension is tuned for maximum track performance, with stiffer springs and dampers
On the chassis section, AMG decided to reinforce and stiffened the Black Series chassis compared to the standard C63, with additional bracing to enhance chassis rigidity. The Black Series also features a wider track, achieved through modified front and rear axles, which contributes to improved stability and superior cornering performance.
The AMG C63 Black Series also comes with much larger and powerful braking system, with 390 mm ventilated and perforated discs at the front and 360 mm discs at the rear (compared to standard C63, 360mm front and 330mm rear). The brake calipers are also upgraded to six-piston units at the front and four-piston at the rear, ensuring superior stopping power and heat dissipation during intense track use.
The Black Series extensive aerodynamic enhancements improvement over the standard C63, including a wider body with flared fenders to accommodate the wider track, a more pronounced front splitter, larger side skirts, and a manually adjustable rear spoiler (up to 4 degree). The Black Series also includes additional cooling vents and a revised rear diffuser, all aimed at improving downforce and cooling efficiency during track speed driving.
