Different grinds for different swing styles and play styles.
grindworks brings back their popular 86 series wedge, RAW with a new vibratory finish. Produced with our signature SUS218 steel, which has the softness and feels of forged carbon steel (Rockwell hardness rating of HRB 80) along with the durability of stainless steel, the 86 series wedge is available in 4 different sole/grind styles. A raw wedge connects the player with the pure form of the club, providing unobtrusive impact equaling better spin and more control. The Vibratory finishing gives the wedge a smooth clean unique look and removes any impurities on the surface.
Every golfer has a different swing and play style, so why should we all play the same wedges. The different grinds of the 86 wedge will allow golfers to choose the grind that suits not only their swing and play style but in theory also the type of courses that they play on. grindworks, your game, your club.
grindworks 86C Raw Wedge excels in bunkers thanks to high bounce and a wide sole which helps create a huge wave of sand at impact. This higher bounce also helps prevent digging on softer more lush ground conditions. With only slight relief on the trailing edge, the wedge can still be used for tight lies as well. The C-grind is best for a player with a steep angle of attack and can be used for approaches, bunkers, or lob shots.
