Dulux Weathershield® Primer is a premium solvent-based vinyl-toluene acrylate primer sealer which promotes adhesion of new paint onto existing painted substrate.

Usage
Suitable for both interior and exterior previously painted masonry like brickwork, plaster and cement. It is specially developed to provide excellent adhesion of new paint onto existing painted substrate as it provides good penetration on slightly powdery surfaces. This primer binds the chalky paint, firms it up, so that subsequent new paint will not flake on aging. This reinforces the subsequent finish paint for a longer lasting finish. This primer is also suitable for solid skim coated masonry surfaces.

Surface Preparation
Surfaces must be sound, clean, dry and free from all defective or poorly adhering material, dirt, grease or wax. Remove any loose or defective paint or powdery residues by thorough brushing and scraping, using a stiff fiber brush and high pressure water jet. Treat any areas affected by mould, lichens, algae and moss with Dulux Fungicidal Wash (A980-19260). Make good minor defects with suitable exterior filler. It should not be applied on areas where moisture reading (as measured by Protimeter) exceeds 15% and alkalinity of wall below pH 9. These walls should be left to dry further.

Note: Paint will not adhere on dirty, loose and powdery substrates which are not thoroughly cleaned.
