Norethisterone 5mg
Sunolut is indicated for:
Amenorrhea (absence of menstruation)
Abnormal uterine bleeding due to hormonal imbalance in the absence of organic pathology
Endometriosis
Postponement of menstruation for medical or personal reasons
Perimenopausal symptoms
Breast cancer treatment (used in higher doses under medical supervision)
Dosage:
For amenorrhea and abnormal uterine bleeding: 5–20 /mg daily, starting on the 5th day of the menstrual cycle and continuing until the 25th day.
For endometriosis: Initially 10 /mg daily for 2 weeks, with 5 /mg daily increments every 2 weeks until 30 /mg daily is reached. Therapy may be held at this level for 6–9 months or until breakthrough bleeding demands temporary termination .
Administration: May be taken with or without food.
Precautions:
Contraindicated in individuals with a history of or current thrombophlebitis, thromboembolic disorders, cerebral apoplexy, known or suspected breast carcinoma, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, missed abortion, or as a diagnostic test for pregnancy
Use with caution in patients with fluid retention, epilepsy, migraine, asthma, cardiac or renal dysfunction, and diabetes.
Not recommended during the first 4 months of pregnancy.
Consult a healthcare provider before use during lactation.
Monitor for potential side effects such as breakthrough bleeding, spotting, changes in menstrual flow, weight, cervical mucus, amenorrhea, edema, cholestatic jaundice, rash, melasma, mental depression, nausea, headache, and visual disturbances
